The New Cock Inn was situated in New Cock Yard, off Fishergate. This pub closed in the 1970s.

My grandfather, Richard Sumner was for many years the landlord here (1952 to 1966). My parents were also landlord and landlady of the Drovers Arms in the 1950s (where I was born)
