The New Inn was situated at 9 Union
Street. This pub is now used as a pet shop. |
|
My ancestor, William Payne, was the Innkeeper at the New Inn
in 1861. He was a coal dealer as well as being a publican. After his death
in 1870, his widow, Elizabeth Payne, continued to run the pub. |
