Three Horseshoes

The Three Horseshoes was situated on Horseshoe Lane. This grade-II listed pub closed in 1957 and is now in residential use.
 
Listed building details:
Cottage, formerly public house. C17 extended at rear late C17. Cellar addition C19, at north east end. Timber framed, plaster rendered and long straw thatch, half hipped roof. Ridge stack. One storey and attic. One eyebrow and one full gable dormer. Four ground floor windows including one with C19 iron casement and baffle entry doorway. Kitchen wing probably added later C17-C18 and now much altered. Thatched. This wing was extended in south west side in 1939. Interior: heavy ceiling framing to two bays at south end of main range. Back-to-back hearths and broad stop chamfered main beams.
