Originally two cottages knocked together in the early 1800’s, converted into a one bar layout in 1988. Received a CAMRA Gold Award in April 2010. Close to Nene Valley Railway. Was a favourite of Peterborough United fans and local residents. Reputedly haunted. Closed in 2016. In February 2020 fans of the Cherry Tree were campaigning to save the pub and a meeting took place on 19 February at the South Grove Community Centre, Woodston to discuss saving the pub. On 29 April 2020 Milton (Peterborough) Estates Company announced they had completed on the sale of the former Cherry Tree Inn public house and land to the rear. Following a tender process conducted by Barker Storey Matthews, there was a lot of interest in the site, with the sale price exceeding the initial guide price of £400,000.
