The Cock Inn was situated on London Road. This pub closed c2002 and was used as a childrens home until 2012, when it became a house of multiple occupation. It is now being converted into a residential house.
I was 5 or 6 in 1958/59 and was a friend of Stephen Gowler who was the son of Don and Claire Gowler who were the licensees of the Cock Inn. All I can recall from those days is the huge grounds they had and an old regular called Curly Buddle. Lived in Westbourne Road across the road.
