Golden Ball

The Golden Ball was situated at 90 High Street. This grade-II listed pub is now in residential use.

Listed building details:
A pair of cottages, later Golden Ball public house, and now one dwelling. 1795. In C19 a small, brick service wing was added at the rear. Timber-frame of light scantling, plaster rendered with a mansard roof, tiled. Ridge stack. Plan of single range of four bays. One storey and attics. Four dormers. The four windows at ground floor include horizontal sliding sashes and a small bow window which, although repaired, is possibly original. There were originally two doorways, only one now remains.
