The Howden Arms was situated at 7 Market Place. This grade-II listed pub was previously known as The Board Inn and closed in 2021.
 

 
Listed building details:
Public house. Early C19. Stucco, pantile roof. 3 storeys, 2 bays. Rusticated quoins. Late C19 timber frontage with board door beneath overlight in pilastered doorcase carrying segmental pediment, flanked by fixed windows with glazing bars. Entrance to side passage at right. First floor: tripartite sashes with glazing bars and second floor: unequally hung 9 and 3-pane tripartite sashes. Gable coping, plain kneelers, end stacks. Interior not inspected but said to contain no features of interest.
