My grandfather, Leonard Hinsull, was the landlord of the Minerva Vaults in Great Barr Street, Digbeth, Birmingham in the mid to late 1930s. When the pub opened in 1855 it was known as the Minerva. The “Vaults” was added sometime later. It closed in 1965 and the building was demolished in the 1970s. This is truly a “lost pub” as hardly any records of it seem to have survived. Certainly, hardly any have been published.
