Sir Robert Peel

The Sir Robert Peel was situated on Cambridge Road. This pub was demolished in 2014 with a block of flats built on the site.

It was the notorious strippers pub complete with Pole Dancers circa 1980/90’s. Never entered the premises myself (honest governor) but an old girlfriend of my unwittingly did. She was from the North and worked in an office just around the corner in 1989. She popped in there one lunchtime for a pint and a bite to eat…not sure if she stayed to finish her lunch or not?

Matthew Convery 2000-2004 This pub was slowly turning away from being a strip pub/club in the latter half of the 90's. I t got bought out and rebranded as "the Peel" and became a music venue for lots of up-and-comer emo/hardcore bands. Hundred Reasons, Funeral for a Friend etc. My band played there several times as did many other bands that were from the local west-London scene. The basement had small rehearsal rooms which helped the local scene too.
