White Hart

The White Hart was situated at 18 High Street. This grade-II listed pub closed in February 2013.

 
Listed building details:
Public house. Late C17, remodelled early C19 with later C19 alteration. Stuccoed brick, machine tile roof with brick end stacks elongated into polygonal shafts terminating in star tops.
Exterior: 2-storey 3-window front. To left and right of centre are 6-panel doors in pilastered doorcases with hoods. All windows are tripartite sashes with glazing bars disposed as 2/2, 6/6, 2/2. First-floor windows with C20 louvred shutters. Gable end to right retains C17 brickwork in the head and one chamfered brick window opening (a second may be hidden from view). Rear elevation encases rebuilt wall stack.
Interior: altered C20.
