My husband and I were co-owners of the Red Lion Inn from 1970 till 1976.
We built the restaurant and extended the car park. It was the most popular place within a 50 mile radius. Apart from farmers and locals from various surrounding villages, our clientele consisted of staff from the Alconbury Airbase, staff and parents from Oundle School and members of the Royal Household. We entertained the Rev. Jessie Jackson here. I will publish my memoir shortly which contains several chapters on the inn.
We had live music in the restaurant and a dance floor and we held festival weekends which were very popular.
