Royal Oak

The Royal Oak was situated on Sewardstone Road and was also known as Venners or Freddies to avoid confusion with another Royal Oak in Chingford. The alternative names come from the family of Terry Venables, the football manager, who owned the pub.  This pub has now been demolished and replaced by the care home in the photo below.
