The Crooked Billet was a large pub near a roundabout which is still known as the Crooked Billet roundabout. Previously known as The Old Crooked Billet, which dated from the 18th century and was demolished in 1930, a new pub of the same name was built on the site. This was also demolished, in the 1980s.
