The Crown & Pipes was situated at 14
High Street. This grade-II listed
pub dating from the early 18th century has been closed since 2020. |
|
The early 18thC pub featured on an episode of
BBC TV's "Homes Under the Hammer" (Series 27/25) and was sold at auction in
Sept 2023. Access to the upstairs flat was separated from the downstairs,
the flat renovated and listed for holiday lets. The new owner's intention
was to convert the former bar into a Malaysian restaurant for the community.
That project was yet to come to be started when the programme aired 13 Aug
2024. |
