Remember this pub during the 1940's. Its frontage was A form of a
veranda, not bricked as presently shown. My grandparents (Burrows) lived
in the village and on Christmas Day, grandfather would drive in his pony
and trap with my uncles and cousins to the F&H for a celebratory drink
or two. We cousins were of course young and had to sit under the veranda
and were usually brought a ginger wine to drink. Happy days. |
