The Bull was situated at 1
Chipperfield Road. This pub
is the
subject of a planning application involving demolition and replacement with
new residential units. |
|
In 1881 there are details in the
census that Thomas Alfred Bruin b 1851 in London was the licensee of the
Bull along with his wife Sarah Jane. Thomas Bruin emigrated to Canada in
about 1883 along with his 2 children Leonard Ernest and Thomas Archibald.
Thomas came from a line of victuallers as his grandfather was licensee of
the Golden Lion in St Johns St near Smithfield and his father was licensee
of the the Old Prince of Orange pub in Gravesend in 1871 census. |
