The Red Lion was situated at 213 Shenley Road. This pub is now used as a McDonalds restaurant.

When my now Ex Husband and I were trainee managers under the guide of the landlord in the late 60’s we use to have a regular customer who came to the pub on his bike,when it came to closing time he would not ride down the road until he could cycle around the perimeters of the pub without falling off. Also I wonder if there is any one still around ,who remembers the Parrot when the pub was open and the weather was OK he was renegated to outside to sit in his cage on top of the doors that was the entrance to the cellar simply because his language was quite naughty at times.
