The Normanton Hotel was situated on the corner of Dale Road and Pear Tree Road. This was a former Strettons pub then Ind Coope . It closed in August 2002 after a police raid for drugs, after which it's licence was revoked . The pub lay derelict and suffered several arson attacks until it was sold and  then turned into a chemists shop.

Name Dates Comments Gayle Megill 1987/1993 My mother and father In Law, ran the normanton hotel for a few years. Sheila and Alan Megill (known as Tank). If anyone as any old photos of them in the pub, I'd be very grateful.
