The pub was known by the
locals as the Wrose Bull, due apparently to there being a bull in the farm
field at the side of the pub. My Grandfather James William Kendall of
Windhill Shipley was the landlord. When he died. my step Grandmother Ellen
Kendall decided to retire after his death and requested the new pub on Wrose
Road was called the Wrose Bull. When I was younger I remember the landlord
in the New Wrose Bull having lots of pictures of the Old Wrose Bull on the
walls. |
