The Five Arches was situated on Herries Road,
Sheffield. This pub has now been demolished. |

I bought the lease on this pub with my ex-partner in 2005. It was quite run
down and we brought it back to life. We had to have the paranormal people in
as strange things were happening that couldn.t be explained. I have a video
footage of spirits (ghosts) walking through the pub and walking through
customers. A man called Simon Tibus from the 1800's came to the pub along
with several other spirits including a little boy called Edward who died in
a snare on the Five Arches foundations over 200 years ago. Sad to see it
knocked down, lot of memories in that place for a lot of people on the
Shirecliffe estate and Parsons Cross. Shame the pubs of the past. |
