Parkwood Hotel

The Parkwood Hotel was situated on Douglas Road. This pub was demolished c1970.

I lived on Wallace Road from 1971 to 1974 and the Parkwood was my local. We moved out just prior to demolition of the whole area so it must have been demolished c1975. The whole area was called Parkwood Springs and was sometimes known as Sheffield's lost village as it could only be accessed through a low and narrow railway bridge hence the single decker bus. Incidentally the bus only ran on one day a week which I think was market day with one service each way. The service still ran when I moved there but I think stopped the year after. The Parkwood had a tap room with a dart board and a best room.
