Neepsend Tavern

The Neepsend Tavern was situated at 144 Neepsend Lane.

After closure in 1974, at one point, the Tavern became a Spa and Massage Parlour - "The Crystal Suite" - by which time the building had been modified considerably, after which it became offices. The pub had survived the 1864 Sheffield Flood when Dale Dyke Dam broke, which caused the death of at least 240 people, and damage to 600 homes.
However, in 2022, it was undergoing renovation in the long term for incorporation into the Neepsend and Kelham Island bar scene, and in June 2022 the courtyard area was open for 4 days with entertainment, as part of part of the Queen's Jubilee Celebrations.
In 1906, the landlord was Thomas Rex. In October 1906, a John Craggs was sentenced to 3 months in prison for his part in the theft of property from the pub, mainly belonging to Thomas Rex, but some belonging to the Worksop and Retford Brewery Company.
