Yorkshiremans Arms

The Yorkshiremans Arms was situated on Burgess Street. This 18th century pub was also known as The Yorkshireman. It has been given an Emergency Demolition order by Sheffield City Council because of structural concerns, caused partly by the demolition of the adjacent building (Barker’s Pool House) for building regeneration. Having commenced work on the adjacent demolition, problems with the structural integrity of the pub, against which the demolished building had been tightly built, were discovered and the Council took ownership of the pub. The Council has found subsequently that the demolition was accelerating the structural issues. The damage was found to be even worse than thought, and it has been decided that remedial work would be too costly to undertake.
The pub was popular with rockers and bikers, but because of construction disruption, in early 2021 the management announced a removal to the old Mulberrry Tavern in Arundel Gate.

The pub announced closure in Jan 2024. However, it's been taken over and re-opened on 23 March 2024, to continue to provide the live-music venue (Rock) on which it had built its reputation as the "Yorkshireman Rock Bar" in Burgess Street.
