The Phoenix Hotel was situated on College Road.

My great great grandfather Councillor Mark Davy owned it until his death in the late 1800s. His son Harry then inherited it. Harry passed away in 1908, so not sure who took over ownership then. I visited the hotel in 2011. It was boarded up by then, likely condemned. Was hoping to take away a souvenir of the place, but understand it’s since been demolished.
