.The Blue Bell was situated on Valley Road. Dating back to 1821 this pub was formerly in a yard off Ropergate. It underwent two name changes in the 1990s, Sports, then Ye Olde Highwayman.
 
Reopened c2020.

Frieda Walker 1954 I lived there as a child, the new Blue Bell was built round us as we lived in the old Blue Bell. I think I was about 8years old then. Dad used to book a turn for Saturday night.
