The Miners Arms was situated on
Greenhow Hill. I had my first legal beer there on my 18th birthday back in
1962 when I was camping up on the moors north of Greenhow Hill. |

My in laws ran the pub back in the Nineties. The pub had a good
reputation for food at that time and employed a proper chef who lived on
site. |

Every Fri we went camping to pately bridge about 20 of us from leeds in
late 70s got to know local lads and lasses especially the Parkin family
who had a farm and sometimes we kippped in barn as father Bernard had a
kiln as he did pottery had a girl Katrina and lads Tam and Andy had some
great nights in miners arms and plenty of beers landlord and landlady
was Paul and Wendy if not wrong |
