The Newcastle House was situated on Ingram Road. This pub closed pre 2019 and was declared an eyesore Middlesbrough Council wished to spruce up. However, it refused planning permission for a ‘convenience store’ in Feb 2021. A revised application for the convenience store was been submitted with approval granted on the second time of asking, for the ground floor of the property to be converted to a convenience store.  The upper floor will remain residential accommodation.
