The Corporation Hotel was situated on Albert Road, opposite the town hall. Wendy Richard's parents were publicans and running the hotel in 1943. This pub has now been demolished.

My father "Gerry" Tuddenham, was the Manager of the hotel, from 1955 until, it's demise in 1970. I lived there from 1955 and went to boarding school in Suffolk until 1958, when I joined Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co....accountants. I finally went to London to work in 1965 My dad and mum retired to Hawes, then Bridlington, before dad died in 1976. Some of the best days of my life were spent in the 'Corp'. So sad, the local council agreed to knock it down!!! So stupid...
