The Squinting Cat was situated on
Swarcliffe Drive. The pub became the John Smeaton, named after the civil
engineer (1724-1792) before reverting to its original name, The Squinting
Cat. In 2013 the building was mostly destroyed by fire. It was subsequently
demolished and replaced by housing. |
