The Ancestor was situated on Armley Ridge Road.
My late Mum was the first licensee of the Ancestor. the pub was built and she was offered the tenancy in I think 1961?? it was a wonderful pub I remember her saying - and she was immensely proud of her connection, not only to be a woman in a strictly mans world, but to be the first to take the pub on... I have been trying to find out more about it and I was so happy to see your site.  She stayed there until 1971 (when I was born), and moved as sadly the area was changing and the pub trade was too!! My dad is now in his 80's and i showed him the images you had up, the basic shape of the building has stayed the same, but what a shame its been closed so long
