The Fleece was situated on Great Horton Road.  This was probably the first public house i visited to buy alcohol , it was situated opposite Cannon Mill , many years after my first visits there , it became the Elephant & Castle and then closed to become a residence unconnected with the public house trade . Joe Richardson was its famed landlord for many years , an ex world war 2 veteran who was an avid fan of roy orbison .
