The Old Lane Inn was situated on Bowling Old Lane. Publicans from 1931 to 1966 were Foster & Vera Appleyard.
Vera Appleyard, nee Wraith, my auntie, sister of George Wraith.(my dad). Their father, George Freckleton Wraith was the landlord in 195Os when I visited as a child. Grandma Wraith took over and Vera followed her. I think G.F Wraith was son of George too...also landlord before him. Nice to see it is still in use today as a house.
