The Bod

The Bod was situated on Manchester Road. The building appeared to be constructed by leaning a number of long wooden beams up against each other, rather like some sort of wigwam.  This allowed the internals to be spacious and open.  It later had to be dismantled because it was cracking and in danger of collapse.  The pub was built on the foundations of a pre-existing warehouse. A bar restaurant called the Piste and Siglu (see above photo) was built on the site. A siglu is an igloo shaped perspex covered bar.
