The Red House was situated at 200-202 Barkerend Road. The Red House was quite a large pub dating back to the 1850s, and was built with stables and a coach house in the yard around the back.  The pub was build of red brick which was unusual for Bradford where sandstone predominated - hence its name.  A notable long time landlord of the Red House was Jack Stott who was landlord for 20 plus years around the 1970s.  The Red House was the last remaining pub on Barkerend Road and was closed for several years before the building itself was demolished in the summer of 2022 to make way for two new shop premises with flats above.
