The Barrack Tavern was situated on Killinghall
Road and has now been converted to an Indian restaurant. |

I lived opposite the Barrack Tavern in the
1940's to 1960's. The landlord in the 1940's was Willie Binns. They had an
educational group called the 'Taverners'. The original building was built
right up to the roadside and was much frequented by soldiers from the
Bradford Moor barracks, situated opposite along Leeds Old Road. Our house
was built on the site of the old barracks. |
