Woodman Inn

The Woodman Inn was situated on the corner of George Street and Great Cross Street. Present by 1852 when it was known as The East Brook Hotel. Now demolished, a Premier Inn has been built on the site.

I believe that this pub closed at the end of 1937 and the landlady was my grandmother Mary Ellen Foxcroft. She was asked to take it on b Bentleys as it was due to be closed and she then moved to Great Northern Hotel Laisterdyke on 8th January 1940
