was present by 1881 when the publican was William Rushforth. It closed in 2017. |

building details: |
Dated 1840. Tall two storey
rendered, painted stone building on rectangular plan. Slate roof largely
concealed by parapet front. Quoin pilasters, plat band and plinth. Three bay
symmetrical elevation, tripartite sashes to outer bays. Glazing bars on
first floor. Large Greek Doric porch with deep entablature and parapet
balcony over. The south side of three bays has raised three storey parapeted
central section concealing gable end. |
