The Hull Youth Hostels Association Cycling
section used this pub every Sunday night after their Sunday cycle rides.
After a few drinks they used to race back to Hull down Beverley Road
sprinting to be first past the 30 sign in Hull. The rival clubs used the
pub opposite, The Sloop and the groups often joined up for the ride back
to Hull. This large group of riders included the areas top riders, Billy
Holmes Alan Creaser Alan Gay, etc |
