The Buck Inn was situated at 25 Beckside. This was a smallish Bass grade-II listed tied house which closed c2009.
 

 
Listed building details:
C18, altered. 2 storeys in brick with hipped pantile roof. Gabled dormers. 3 modern windows over 2. Doorway with plain pilasters, entablature and cornice. Carriage doorway.

Malcolm Kilvingtom 1960s The Hull Youth Hostels Association Cycling section used this pub every Sunday night after their Sunday cycle rides. After a few drinks they used to race back to Hull down Beverley Road sprinting to be first past the 30 sign in Hull. The rival clubs used the pub opposite, The Sloop and the groups often joined up for the ride back to Hull. This large group of riders included the areas top riders, Billy Holmes Alan Creaser Alan Gay, etc
