The Old Inn has now been converted to residential property.

This place has great affection and fond memoriesto our family. My grandfather Frank Baker  and grandmother  Bess  (nee Hartnell)  had the pub and its home, following WW1 and through the period of WW2 and beyond. I lived there following my birth in Malmesbury until I was nearly 4 years old. The famous Dr Hodge loved to come and see me and I am sure gramp gave him a quick Noggin or two. The deep pond at the front entrance was filled in so that I did not.
The family stories would make today's folk cringe.  My mother Peggy Baker had her wedding reception at the Old Inn.

S D Trott 1956 Between Sept and Dec 1956 I lodged here. I was a student and was working at A B Blanch Ltd, Crudwell. The landlord was a Joe Weide. The local Fox hounds sometime met in the yard in front of the pub. It was a typical 1950s village pub - no food served except sandwiches & crisps.
