The Beat's first gig was played here on March 31st 1979! A typical Brum pub, the three mile island incident had started in Harrisburg, PA,a couple of days before, and we were introduced onstage as " the hottest thing since the pennsylvania meltdown", by my school friend Jan Ozimkowski, who went on to be become a top brass senior fireman.
