The Bulls Head was situated on Coventry Road,
Hay Mills.
This pub was located almost opposite the Police Station, which is now the
Old Bill & Bull pub, where the filter lane traffic lights are in the
above photo. I have half a copy of an ”Forthcoming attractions 1968”
list from the Bulls Head which included Joe Cocker (who I saw there) and Jethro Tull, Chicken Shack and the Idle Race. I also have (somewhere) a
membership card. It was certainly a good night out for me and my mates.
Demolished to make way for road widening, the licence was transferred to The
Old Bill & Bull. |

I saw Ten Years After there, there were 40/ 50
people in that night. Real good. Not long after they're at Woodstock. |
