The Crown Inn was situated on Edinburgh Square. This pub closed in 2008 when sold by Enterprise Inns.

I worked in the pub in the early 90's. It was owned by Paul and Daria Schofield. On a Friday/Saturday evening, The bar would be Three deep and there would be 3/4 of us behind the tiny bar dodging each other and flat out till we called time. Had lots of locals plus many of the polo grooms and others involved in the sport, from all over the world. We got a lot busier when The Egremont closed, many groups and events in the hall, The only group i remember were the Morris dancers, oh and a pool table in the main bar,
