The Pierpoint was situated on Western Road. This pub was previously known as The Chinese Garden and renamed to The Pierpoint in the early 1970s.

Joy	1970s	I remember Bobbie and Peter who ran the establishment brilliantly as a cabaret restaurant. I recall Gerald Campion - who one played Billy Bunter in the acclaimed BBC children's t.v. programme in the 50's. Gerald, was aptly employed as chef. I fondly remember Jack Hazeldine and his band were resident after a long stint at the old Ringmer Inn. Happy days.
