The Maytree was situated on the Old Shoreham Road. They knocked it down to build a set of terraced houses, which are still there. My uncle and his wife, Fred and Dibby Leadbetter, was the landlord/landlady 1982 I think for about 4-6 years. It was a well-known dive and as teenagers (15-16) we could always sneak in the a quick pint, as one of our friends was a 6.6ft kid who was built like an outhouse.
