The Pigeons

|
|
|
The Three Pigeons was situated at 87
Petersham Road. Dating back to 1715, The
Three Pigeons was rebuilt on the riverside in 1871 at the request of the
Duke of Buccleuch.
In the 1980s, a controversial rebranding as The Raj—complete with pink walls
and a colonial Indian theme—proved unpopular, and the pub soon reverted to
its original name.
Financial troubles led to its closure in 1993, and while renovations were
planned, a suspected arson attack in 1994 caused extensive damage.
The building remained in limbo for years before being converted into flats
in the late 2000s. |
