The Jolly Brewer was situated at the junction of Walter Street and Kingsgate Road. This pub has now been demolished with the site now occupied by a car park.

I spent a lot of time in here when at Kingston Poly between 1982 and 86. The pub had a very active pool team and though we werent very good at the official game we came good when money went on the table. Cant remember the landlords name but he use to have an Alsatian dog who use to lick the drip trays dry at the end of the evening. I remember Hofmeister lager being £1 a pint :-)
