Tanners Arms

The Tanners Arms was situated at 75 Meadrow. began life in the early 1800’s as a corner house with a bakery, eventually being licenced by a ‘tanner’ by trade. In 1892 it was leased to a local brewery – Holroyds and Healy’s, before being closed as a pub in 1952 and sold to a building company. It’s present use is a branch of a firm of solicitors.  There is still an original side window showing it to be the ‘Smoking Room’.
