The Wharfinger was located next to the crossroads in Ash
Wharf, between Ash Vale and Ash. The pub was originally opened as The Bridge
House around 1860 and was a popular venue for gipsy weddings and funerals.
According to the
Basingstoke
Canal Society website the pub closed in August 1983. Since then the site
has been used as a display area of used cars by Tolleys Of Ash and is now
the showroom for Vale Furnishers. |
