The Wharfinger

The Wharfinger was located next to the crossroads in Ash Wharf, between Ash Vale and Ash. The pub was originally opened as The Bridge House around 1860 and was a popular venue for gipsy weddings and funerals. According to the Basingstoke Canal Society website the pub closed in August 1983. Since then the site has been used as a display area of used cars by Tolleys Of Ash and is now the showroom for Vale Furnishers.
