The Poacher was situated on Bell Green. This pub closed in 2017.
I first remember that building as a house containing the Post Office in a small room to the side. This was back in the early 1970's. A year or so later the PO had expanded to be a small grocery shop. Move on a few more years and they had added an off licence. They lost the Post Office and built a small bar for on-sales.  The bar took off and soon the whole place had been converted to a pub. A nice country persons pub. In later years they have clearly found it hard going so it closed in 2016 to turn full circle back to being a house.
