This pub, together with
The Nags Head, Stafford, had a
connection in the personage of one Keith Webb. Keith was also the regular
drummer upstairs in the Rose and Crown, Etruria with Rock Workshop. I was
the keyboard player who had the good fortune to work with Keith. He made the
drive from Stafford to Etruria every Friday night in his pink e-type Jaguar.
The resident band consisted of Andy Richards (Keyboards), Steve Herbert
(Keyboards), Pod (Guitar), Vish (Bass and Vocals) and Keith Webb (Drums).
Sitting in with us were at various times Terry Reid, several members of the
Climax Blues Band (Derek Holt, Colin Cooper, John Cuffley and Pete Haycock)
and occasionally other. The beer was pulled by barman, Keith (another
Keith). Maybe someone else can remember what the beer was … I was
distracted. |
